At the initiative of the United Nations Population Fund and the Police an interdepartmental meeting took place at the conference hall of the municipality of Ejmiatsin. At the beginning of the meeting Arsen Petrosyan, Deputy Mayor of Ejmiatsin, Chairman of the "Guardianship and Trusteeship" Commission of the Municipality, welcomed those presents.
During the interdepartmental meeting the discussion was about the implementation of the law “On Prevention of Domestic Violence, Protection of the Victims of Domestic Violence and Restoration of Solidarity in the Family”.
Human Rights Expert Anush Khachatryan briefly presented the EU "Human Rights Promotion and Protection" program. Police Colonel Nelly Duryan, Head of the Department on Protection of Juvenile Rights and Combating Domestic Violence of the General Department of Criminal Intelligence of the RA Police, presented the peculiarities of the implementation of the above-mentioned law by the Police and statistics on domestic violence.
The series of the interdepartmental meetings are held within the framework of the EU funded "Human Rights Promotion and Protection" program, implemented by the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund and UNICEF.
