The annual awards ceremony "Best Community" took place on November 10, during the reception devoted to Local Self-Government Day. It has been held since 2006 on the initiative of the Union of the Communities of Armenia and the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
The winners of 4 main and 5 special nominations were announced during the awards ceremony.
Ejmiatsin was recognized as "The Most Innovative and Smart City" of 2019 by the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and the Union of the Communities of Armenia.
The award was given to Mayor Diana Gasparyan by Emin Yeritsyan, the Chairman of the Union of the Communities of Armenia and Ashot Giloyan, the Head of the Administration of Local Self-Government Policy of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
