Acting Mayor of Vagharshapat Argishti Mehakyan hosted the delegation from Almelo, the sister city of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The delegation included Mayor Richard Kotland, Deputy Mayor Hatice Kuchukbali, Advisor to the Mayor Mikel Heite, Head of External Relations Else ten Hove, as well as Wouter Tiu and Sara Shahinyan, representatives of the Almelo–Ejmiatsin Cooperation Foundation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for deepening cooperation, implementing community development projects, and expanding educational, cultural, and youth programs.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing the Ejmiatsin–Almelo partnership, noting that the warm and effective ties established between the two cities will contribute to the launch of new initiatives and the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

This was the delegation’s first visit to Ejmiatsin, providing an important opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our community, its culture, development processes, and its people. The delegation highly appreciated the efforts and initiatives undertaken by Vagharshapat and extended a warm invitation to visit Almelo, with the aim of continuing the cooperation and shaping new joint projects.
