An international conference dedicated to the opportunities for territorial development in Armenia through the LEADER methodology was held today in Yerevan. The conference was organized within the framework of the “EU LEAD” programme.
The event was attended by community leaders from various regions of Armenia, representatives of local self-government bodies and civil society, as well as high-level guests from the EU Delegation to Armenia, UNDP, UNHCR, diplomatic missions, and international experts.
Argishti Mehakyan, Acting Head of the Vagharshapat Community, also took part in the conference.
The discussions focused on the five-year achievements of the Local Action Groups (LAGs), ways to ensure their sustainability, and the further dissemination of the LEADER methodology in new regions of Armenia.
During the conference, participants presented the outcomes of the EU LEAD Programme, explored opportunities for integrating the LEADER approach into Armenia’s draft Territorial Development Strategy, and reviewed the experiences of Czechia, Hungary, Italy, and Moldova.
