The 14th Japanese Film Festival was held in Armenia from 12-21 of December. Within the framework of the festival, feature film “Destiny: The Tale of Kamakura” was screened at the hall of Ejmiatsin Municipality.
Mayor Diana Gasparyan and Jun Yamada, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Armenia were present at the screening.
Greeting those present Ambassador Jun Yamada underlined that for the first time during the history of the Japanese Film Festival this year the films are screened with Armenian subtitles.
Speaking about the annual Japanese Film Festival, Mayor Diana Gasparyan mentioned that the films screened within the framework of the festival stand out not only for their content and depth, but also for their unique aesthetic handwriting.
The films of the Festival were also screened in Yerevan, Spitak, Gyumri and Ijevan.
The cooperation between the Municipality and the Embassy is diverse. Besides the Film Festivals Sumi-e painting master-classes, tea ceremonies and Ikebana - flower arrangement master-classes are held in Ejmiatsin every year.
