In the vicinity of Vagharshapat Municipality an eve celebration of Tearndaraj was held.
After the Lord's Prayer, according to the meaning of the day, Father Artak Senior Priest Simonyan performed a blessing ceremony of a 40-day-old baby. Mayor Diana Gasparyan presented a blessed cross to the child.
Congratulating those present on the occasion of the holiday, the Mayor wished well-being, love and warmth to the families, emphasizing that the foundation of the state must be strengthened by a strong family.
During the event the pupils of the dance groups of the Culture House after Komitas represented the meaning of the holiday with a ritual dance-performance. Pavilions prepared by community schools, NGOs and cultural centers provided the festive spirit of the holiday. The community authorities walked around the pavilions and got acquainted with the handmade works of the groups.
The celebrations of the eve of the holiday ended with national dances around the bonfire.
