Today the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Holiday of Assumption of the Holy Mother of God.
The Holiday of Assumption of the Holy Mother of God mostly emphasizes the fact of filial love and restrained expectation and faith of the mother. After the death of Jesus Christ the Holy Mother of God lived for 12 years and during those years she continued to serve God, and after the Assumption she became an intercessor for us.
It is symbolic that this year the Holiday of Assumption of the Holy Mother of God coincided with the Holiday of the Revival of Hadrut, the sister city of Ejmiatsin. I bow to all mothers whose sons bravely fell in the 44-day war for the sake of the homeland, for the sake of the Armenian people. I believe that the day of our victories will come; our nation will build a strong Armenia.
Today we ask the Holy Mother of God to intercede for us, our families, our children, our Homeland and our Church.
