On June 29 Mayor of Ejmiatsin Diana Gasparyan together with her colleague from Almelo Arjen Gerritsen signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration between the cities of Ejmiatsin and Almelo. The memorandum aims to develop mutually beneficial and friendly collaboration between the two cities in a number of fields, particularly tourism, economy, culture, art, etc. Hereby the Parties will take practical measures to organize informative visits, support the establishment of direct relations in different areas between non-governmental organizations, institutions and specialists.
Tigran Balayan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Nicolaas Jacob Schermers, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands in the Republic of Armenia, members of the council of elders of both cities were present during the online signing of the memorandum. Ejmiatsin is the first city in the Republic of Armenia to sign a memorandum of collaboration with any city of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The interesting directions of cooperation with Almelo, the city with the biggest population of Armenians of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, have already been outlined and the formed working group will do its best to make the relations between the two cities practical and mutually beneficial.
