The "Little Step" nation-wide children's music contest-festival has been launched in №1 Music School after Makar Yekmalyan of Ejmiatsin. This year’s contest was the second one.
The first contest was held in 2019 with the participation of Armavir, Ararat and Aragatsotn regions. Last year the festival was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. And this year the participants of the contest are from all regions and Artsakh.
The number of the children is unprecedented. 1400 participants will perform more than 700 musical performances.
Each category has a separate jury. The jury of the "Academic Vocal" includes choirmaster, opera-symphonic conductor Radik Melikyan, opera singer Rebeka Ojakhyan, Hasmik Hatsagortsyan, the Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia, lecturer of the Yerevan State Conservatory. The chairperson of the jury is Hasmik Papyan, the Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia and opera singer.
The contest-festival will last until May 20.
