MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN EJMIATSIN MUNICIPALITY AND THE UN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME COUNTRY OFFICE IN ARMENIA
Foreign RelationsWithin the scope of the agreement of cooperation between Ejmiatsin Municipality and the UN Development Programme Country office in Armenia the project ‘’Green Technology for Sustainable Energy Services in Ejmiatsin Community’’ has been launched. The project is financed by the British Embassy in Yerevan, implemented and co-financed by UNDP. According to this project the institutions subordinate to the Municipality should start using renewable energy. Within the scope of the project an informative trainings were also organized for the staff of the Municipality and the institutions subordinate to the Municipality, as well as for the members of the City Council of Elders.
Such projects of energy saving and renewable energy will directly contribute to mitigating the environmental problems and reducing the expenses incurred by the Municipality. According to the memorandum, the saved funds will be directed to the implementation of charitable and social programs.
