September 15, 2018 has been declared "World Cleaning Day". For the first time, Armenia also joined the 150 countries that are involved in the movement. According to the action plan of the nation-wide clean-up day within the scope of "Clean Planet" program, early in the morning the staff of the Municipality, headed by Acting Mayor Diana Gasparyan, together with the members of the Students’ Council of the city and the volunteers carried out cleaning and improvement works in the park of Teryan District of Ejmiastin and in adjacent areas. The Acting Mayor noted that more and more volunteers began to take part in the process of city cleaning and in nation-wide clean-up initiatives.
The cleanliness of the city starts not with cleaning, but with not polluting. The citizens who joined the clean-up day united around one idea: "The city is the home of all of us; it is also everyone's duty to keep it clean."
Recently, on the initiative of the city authorities, large-scale sanitary cleaning works have been carried out and are being carried out, in the problematic areas of the city, the areas turned into garbage dumps on the outskirts of the city are being cleaned properly. The city authorities expect compassionate attitude of the citizens toward the maintenance of the cleanliness.
