The Union of Communities commemorated the 22nd anniversary of the investment of local self-government system in Armenia with the “Best Community of the Year” annual award ceremony. For this occasion a reception with “New Armenia - Renovated Communities” headline was organised, during which the results of the “Best Community of the Year” awards were summed up. The name of Ejmiatsin city was mentioned among the winning nominations. Ejmiatsin was recognized as “Clean Community” of 2018 by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of RA and the Union of Communities of Armenia.
Speaking about the criteria for choosing the best ones, Emin Yeritsyan, the President of the Union emphasised that not only the submitted applications had been considered, but also the fact how residents recognize the elected community. Vache Terteryan, the Acting Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of RA qualified the award ceremony “Best Community of the Year” as a good way of evaluating and encouraging the communities, emphasizing once more that democracy is one of the pillars of the development of our country.
