Towards the 150th anniversary of all Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, the Municipality of Ejmiatsin has announced February to be Tumanyan month and has undertaken a number of cultural programs and events.
The events of Tumanyan days started with an interesting initiative by the Municipality of Ejmiatsin and "Multart +" animation studio. The animated-musical cartoon "Lazy Huri" based on Tumanyan's eponymous fairy tale was shown in 2 sessions on the big screen of the Municipality hall. At the beginning of the film screening, Gayane Babayan, production designer of the musical cartoon, presented the audience the story of the cartoon creation and interesting information about it.
The cartoon was followed by the interactive part revealing children's knowledge about Tumanyan. Those who gave correct answers to the questions about Tumanyan's works received gifts from the Municipality.
Within the framework of Tumanyan days various cultural events of educational nature are planned to take place in Ejmiatsin.
