After the 17th Summit of Francophonie that took place in Yerevan in October 2018, the interest toward French language and French culture has significantly increased in Armenia. During these days the Francophone culture is again in the center of attention as different events are organized in Francophone countries on the days around March 20 – the International Francophonie Day.
Various events are organized also in Armenia during Francophonie days. The program started on March 11 at Moscow Cinema with Francophone Film Festival organized in collaboration with the Embassies of Switzerland, Belgium and Canada.
“Cross of Armenian Unity” Non-Governmental Charitable, Cultural Organization also took part in the events this year. A master class on pottery, rug making and painting was organized on April 19.
Details about Francophonie, Armenian-French relations and French-Armenian famous people were represented during the event. The guests got acquainted with the art of pottery, learnt the secrets of painting and got acquainted with the nuances of rug making.
According to Varduhi Karapetyan, the organizer of the event, this is not the first year they take part in the Francophone events and their participation tends to strengthen the Armenian-French relations, spread the idea of Francophonie and develop the cultural relations of two countries.
During the master class sounded the famous songs of French-Armenian chansonnier Charles Aznavour and French pop music.
