This year too the city museums of Ejmiatsin have joined the events of the "Museum Night" program. This year events are held under the title "Museums as cultural ties. The future of tradition’’. This program, held on the International Museum Day, is a cultural event during which the museums and cultural institutions are open until late at night to present themselves to their new potential visitors. In recent years, on this day the museums are being represented with new exhibitions and events typical of the title of the year.
The visitors of the museums of Ejmiatsin first congratulated the museum staff on the International Museum Day, and then got acquainted with the exhibits.
The Historical and Ethnographic Museum exhibited the life and lifestyle of the Soviet years under the title "Memories from our recent past ․HOMO SOVETICUS". The exhibits were familiar to the older visitors of the museum from the Soviet years, they evoked pleasant memories, and the little ones studied the exhibits with great interest trying to write with the help of ink.
Works of the social realism genre were exhibited in another hall of the museum. These works were from the collection of Nerses Melikyan, the Honorary Citizen of Ejmiatsin, an Expert. As for the atmosphere of the museum the music and dance performances made it warmer.
In addition to the main exhibition, an exhibition of Samvel Movsisyan's collages was opened at Hovhannes Hovhannisyan House-Museum. At the same time, there was an open dance class in the yard of the House-Museum, which the visitors of the museum could join and participate.
During the second part of the event, the talented schoolchildren of Vagharshapat №5 High School after M. Gorky had performances with recitation, reading heartfelt letters, interesting staging of the special moments of the poet's life.
