Dear citizens,
I sincerely congratulate all of us on the occasion of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia.
May 28 is a glorious example of an Armenian defending heroically his right to life; it is one of the brightest pages in our history. It is unbelievable how after a century-long break and only 3 years after the Armenian Genocide, on May 28, 1918 our nation was able to restore the independent statehood due to the collective will and unbreakable spirit. Although the first republic of Armenia had a short life, its lessons of freedom, independence, sovereign state, building a powerful state and most importantly the need to maintain it, were passed down from generation to generation and it had its new and brilliant manifestation in the late 1980s.
We must always study our history passed, learn lessons from every page of it, specifically realizing the importance and significance of the Armenian statehood.
Once again, I congratulate all of us on this beautiful holiday-the Day of the First Republic. I wish you strong faith, unity, the will and endurance to face difficulties.
