BACKGAMMON (NARDI) TOURNAMENT WAS HELD IN EJMIATSIN FOR THE FIRST TIME

In cooperation of Ejmiatsin Municipality and the National Backgammon Federation of Armenia a backgammon tournament was held in Ejmiatsin for the first time.
The tournament was held in two - short and long forms, for teams and individuals. About thirty amateurs and professional backgammon players applied for the tournament. According to the information received from the President of the Federation, the youngest participant among the registered ones was 19 years old.
The fight for winning lasted about three hours, during which Mayor Diana Gasparyan and Member of the Council of Elders Nerses Melikyan managed to play an amateur game.
Nerses Aghajanyan won in the individual short game; Tadevos Tadevosyan won in the long game. The team of Yerevan won the team game.
The winners were awarded medals, certificates of honor and financial awards by Mayor Diana Gasparyan and President of the National Backgammon Federation Khachik Melikyan. The latter also exchanged symbolic gifts as a sign of gratitude.
