TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY OF THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

Paying tribute to the victims of Spitak earthquake and the Serbian pilots, Head of the Armavir Marz Hambardzum Matevosyan, Mayor of Ejmiatsin Diana Gasparyan and the staff of the Municipality laid flowers and wreaths at the monument devoted to the eternal memory of the Serbian pilots.
After the catastrophic earthquake of December 7, 1988 the whole world was trying to help the Armenian nation. Unfortunately, the airplane of the Serbian pilots bringing help to Armenia, crushed on Ejmiatsin-Armavir road. All the members of the crew died.
A monument was made from the pieces of the crushed airplane at the place where the accident happened.
